How does SkinPen work?
SkinPen creates hundreds of thousands of micro skin punctures per second to stimulate the skin’s natural wound healing process – inflammation, proliferation and remodelling – to prompt tissue remodelling without causing scar tissue formation. Will it work for me?
Unlike some alternatives, SkinPen has been clinically proven to be effective for women and men with with all Fitzpatrick Skin Types I – VI. Likewise, unlike lasers or chemical peels that can damage skin over the long term, SkinPen treatments, when properly spaced and overseen by a physician, can be used for years.

What about downtime and aftercare?
The SkinPen treatment comes with a minimal recovery period; you will be able to resume your daily life almost straight away. Avoid extreme temperatures such as hot water, saunas etcand unnecessary contact with the treated area for 48 hours after the treatment. How many treatments will I need?
This is a question that is hard to answer without a consultation where we can assess the area and have a conversation with you about your expectations. On average 3-6 treatments are recommended. However, once we can see the area, this may differ. Package deals are available so please ask about this at your consultation.
Will it hurt?
Most people have no problem and say they feel nothing during the treatment as the numbing cream has done its job! However, this depends on the client’s pain threshold and sensitivity levels.
How long will the results of SkinPen last for?
Once the desired results from the treatment have been achieved, they will last a minimum of 2-3 years on average. This is because the skin carries on ageing at the natural rate – this means some people may not need it doing again and others may like another treatment after this period of time to maintain results.
Who should not use SkinPen?
SkinPen should not be used on patients who have active skin cancer in the treatment area(s); open wounds, sores, or irritated skin in the treatment area(s); an allergy to stainless steel or anesthetics; a hemorrhagic (bleeding) disorder or hemostatic (bleeding) dysfunction; are pregnant or nursing; or are currently taking drugs with the ingredient isotretinoin (such as Accutane).
